DESCRIPTION:Three works of art presented at the BlueLine—the future high tide line—will offer a creative lens into the realities of climate change\, coastal resilience\, waterfront access\, and environmental justice. Today\, more than one million people in our region face direct risks from coastal flooding. This free outdoor exhibition includes a floating Maritime Library from Tideland Institute\, experimental documentary films about New York City’s waterfront by artists Nate Dorr and Nathan Kensinger\, and Water Rises dance performances from Artichoke Dance Company.

Throughout the season of Lent\, Comfort at One will present performances that are inspired by the Gandhi quote: “In the midst of darkness\, light persists.” These concerts include improvisations by Julian Wachner\, light-inspired Bach cantatas\, our 2014 Lenten “Lamentatio” series featuring NOVUS NY and The Choir of Trinity Wall Street\, new performances from the Trinity Youth Chorus and St. Paul’s Chapel Choir\, and new virtual content on Fridays from our extended family of artists.

DESCRIPTION:Flamboyant and full of life\, Jewish prisoner Helena Citron found herself the subject of an unlikely affection at Auschwitz: Franz Wunsch\, a high-ranking SS officer who fell in love with Helena and her magnetic singing voice. Their forbidden relationship lasted until her miraculous liberation. Thirty years later\, a letter arrived from Wunsch’s wife begging Helena to testify on Wunsch’s behalf in an Austrian court. She was faced with an impossible decision: should she help the man who brutalized so many lives\, but saved hers\, along with some of the people closest to her? Follow her journey in Love It Was Not (86 minutes\, Hebrew with English subtitles)\, an award-winning new documentary from Israeli director Maya Sarfaty and Austrian-Israeli producing team Nir Sa’ar and Kurt Langbein.
