DESCRIPTION:Every first Sunday starting March\, China Institute Hoppy Rabbit Playdate program offers 1-hour open session where families can bring their children to our spacious and cozy indoor playground space to play\, socialize\, have fun with age-appropriate toys and activities. This is also a great time to meet children and families interested in exploring Chinese language and culture. All families are welcome! We require all children stay with their caregivers at all times\, with the supervision and support from our Mandarin speaking educators and dedicated staff.

SUMMARY:Sea Chanteys and Maritime Music
DESCRIPTION:Includes a 45-minute performance by various local artists singing a variety of traditional maritime work songs and ballads. Attendees are invited to sing along with the featured guests or just sit back and enjoy their performance. Following the set\, the stage will open for a round-robin where attendees––in-person and virtual––can sing and share their favorite Chantey that will be heard by all. Singers of all levels\, as well as listeners\, are welcome to join in the choruses throughout the event\, lead or request a song in the round-robin\, or just listen. Those joining in-person\, before or after the Sing\, are invited to enjoy free access to the Seaport Museum galleries at 12 Fulton Street\, and visit tall ship Wavertree and lightship Ambrose on Pier 16. Advance registration required.

SUMMARY:“Di Shvester” – The Sisters: Eleanor Reissa and Cilla Owens with the Paul Shapiro Quartet
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate women in Jewish and Yiddish music with Di Shvester: The Sisters. Two of New York’s finest vocalists\, Eleanor Reissa and Cilla Owens\, will perform alongside the Paul Shapiro Quartet. They will harmonize\, swing\, and groove saluting the rich world of Jewish women composers\, lyricists\, and songstresses. Reissa and Owens have interpreted this music for decades as soloists and bring their experiences and talents together for a foot-tapping\, heart-grabbing concert. This concert salutes the rich contribution of Jewish women in Yiddish and English music. Reissa and Owens will be reunited with musical director\, composer\, and saxophonist Paul Shapiro whose career has traversed jazz\, R&B\, and Yiddishkeit.
