In the lively uptown neighborhood\, many forms of artistic expression – jazz poetry\, musical theater\, literature\, and architecture – energized culture. Join us to learn about art and architecture of the Harlem Renaissance\, including spaces like the Apollo theater and Minton’s Playhouse. We’ll then create collages using cutouts of New York buildings\, art pieces\, and literature from the Renaissance\, inspired by African American artist\, Romare Bearden. All ages welcome!
