SUMMARY:The Elegant Chinese Lifestyle: The Art of Living a Fulfilling Life
DESCRIPTION:The elegant Chinese lifestyle is a concept that encompasses a refined way of living that is rooted in traditional Chinese culture and values. It emphasizes simplicity\, harmony\, balance\, and an appreciation for beauty and nature. At its core\, the elegant Chinese lifestyle is about cultivating a sense of inner peace and contentment through living in harmony with one’s surroundings\, whether it’s through practicing calligraphy\, enjoying tea ceremonies\, practicing tai chi\, or simply taking walks in nature. It also involves a deep appreciation for art and culture\, including poetry\, painting\, music\, and literature\, as well as a respect for one’s ancestors and a commitment to preserving and passing on cultural traditions to future generations. At this lecture\, Prof. Lu Xichen\, a renowned author and practitioner of the topic\, will conduct a fascinating exploration of this holistic approach to life and discuss the benefits of Confucius and Daoist classics\, tea\, poetry\, martial arts\, musical instruments\, chess\, calligraphy\, painting\, and traveling\, all of which contribute to improving our overall well-being.

SUMMARY:Sky-High: A Critique of NYC’s Supertall Towers from Top to Bottom
DESCRIPTION:Part architectural guidebook and part critique\, Sky-High documents the pencil-thin\, supertall towers that are transforming New York City’s skyline and streets. A new book by Eric P. They feature a new crop of “supertall” towers (commonly measured as at least 984’/300m above the sidewalk)\, including One World Trade Center\, Three World Trade Center\, 30 Hudson Yards\, 35 Hudson Yards\, One57\, 432 Park Avenue\, 53West53\, Central Park Tower\, and One Vanderbilt.

SUMMARY:“Nelly & Nadine” Screening and Discussion
DESCRIPTION:Nelly & Nadine tells the unlikely love story between Nelly Mousset-Vos\, an opera singer who worked with the French Resistance\, and Nadine Hwang\, a habituée of the French literary scene who was also likely part of the resistance. The two women were sent to Ravensbrück concentration camp\, and it was there where they met and fell in love. Although they were separated in the last few months of the war\, they managed to reunite and spent the rest of their lives together in Venezuela. Nelly and Nadine’s story was kept secret until Nelly’s grandchild Sylvie opened the couple’s personal archives to uncover their history. The Museum’s virtual screening of the film will be followed by a conversation with the film’s director Magnus Gertten and scholar and CEO of the Jewish Women’s Archive Judith Rosenbaum.
