SUMMARY:Calm Among the Palms
DESCRIPTION:In celebration of the new palm trees in the Winter Garden\, Brookfield Place will present a site-specific\, restorative sound bath experience. Led by shamanic sound healing artist\, Robin Kang in collaboration with Adrian DiMatteo (the Sonic Institute) and Diego Bravo\, this therapeutic and rejuvenating experience will combine multi-instrumental sacred sound\, breath\, and energy work among the palm trees\, providing participants with stress relief\, healing\, and a moment of respite during the busy workday. Each session is 20 minutes. RSVP required.

DESCRIPTION:Open house will feature a breadth of printing equipment that you will be invited to use. You’ll get to see how the designers at Bowne lock up limited edition designs that showcase some of the more eccentric parts from the Seaport Museum’s printing and graphic arts collection. Established in 1775\, the original Bowne & Co.\, Inc. was one of New York’s oldest printing firms. The Bowne & Co. that you can experience today at the Seaport Museum is an offshoot of the original and continues the age-old tradition of job (or small batch) printing. Advanced registration is encouraged for this free open house but walkups will be accommodated as possible. Anyone ages 12 and up is welcome.

SUMMARY:“UnBroken” Film Screening
DESCRIPTION:UnBroken chronicles the plight of the seven Weber siblings who\, following their mother’s murder at Auschwitz\, evaded certain capture and death as mere children in war-torn Nazi Germany. After being hidden in a laundry hut by a benevolent farmer\, the children spent two harrowing years on their own. Emboldened by their father’s mandate that they ‘always stay together\,’ their saga culminates in a painful ultimatum: for that which would save them\, would also tear them apart.  Filmmaker Beth Lane\, daughter of the youngest Weber sibling\, embarks on a quest to retrace their steps\, seeking answers to long-held questions about her family’s survival. The film examines the journey of the Webers as told through conversations with living siblings – now in their eighties and nineties – while Beth and her crew road trip across Germany\, following the courageous\, tumultuous\, and harrowing path taken by her family over seventy years ago. Following the film there will be a brief Q&A with director Beth Lane.
