Fresh, colorful delights abound at Takahachi Bakery.

Each week, the Downtown Alliance will feature a local business. This week, we’ll introduce you to Takahachi Bakery, which opened last June at 25 Murray Street.

Yes, Lower Manhattan offers wedge salads and prime ribs eaten in vaulted rooms, but what about yuzu tarts, orange wasabi mousse and almond-miso cookies? Thanks to Hiroyuki Takahachi, you can find find these treats in the area now, too.

Takahachi, who also owns successful restaurants in the East Village and TriBeCa, opened this attractive space in June. Business has been buzzing ever since.

The lighting is toned down to highlight the colorful desserts, fresh salads, flavorful curry-filled rolls and house-made gelato arranged elegantly under glass. It’s enough to make you forget that prime rib for a while.
