Fab Fotos From Friday's Festivities

Thousands of revelers came to Lower Manhattan last Friday to celebrate the US Women’s National Team victory in the 2015 FIFA World Cup Tournament (their record-breaking third World Cup win). The champions were feted with New York City’s 206th ticker-tape parade and the first one held in honor of an all-female team.

The festivities began early in the morning, as parade goers lined up along Broadway to get in perfect viewing position. At 11 a.m., the parade began at the Battery and made its way up Broadway’s Canyon of Heroes.  Carli Lloyd and her teammates were joined by Governor Cuomo and Mayor DeBlasio, all of whom were showered with a blizzard of confetti (some of which was provided by the Alliance). The parade ended with a ceremony at City Hall, where each player was given a key to New York City.

Don’t worry if you missed it — we captured the celebration from start to finish. View some of our favorite images from the day on our Flickr page!
