Lower Manhattan Major Openings
Mercer Labs — Museum of Art and Technology
21 Dey St. — Opened February 2024
One of the most uniquely immersive experiences, the sprawling new museum set in a repurposed bank building that was once part of the original Century 21 comprises 15 immersive exhibition spaces featuring interactive experiences for all five of your senses. Lines are already across the block, with slots consistently sold out. It will take at least two hours to experience the entire museum.
PAC NYC
1 Liberty Plaza – Opened September 2023
PAC NYC opened in Lower Manhattan in September as a prime cultural destination. PAC NYC is a one-of-a-kind multidisciplinary space, with the latest theatrical design, technology and boundary-pushing work located at the World Trade Center. Leading international artists in theater, dance, music, film and chamber and new opera will inspire, entertain and unite us. On-site restaurant Metropolis, a Marcus Samuelsson restaurant, is now open.
Century 21 NYC
22 Cortlandt St. — Reopened May 2023
After shuttering all 13 of its locations in November 2020, including the much-loved Lower Manhattan flagship, the famed retailer has reopened in its original downtown store. The new iteration has nearly the same footprint as its predecessor, spanning four floors, and maintains its core mission of offering designer apparel at great prices. The Lower Manhattan flagship has been a fixture of the downtown shopping experience, marrying old world New York glamor with the city’s signature hustle.

Printemps
One Wall St. —Opening Fall 2024
Luxury French department store Printemps will open its first US location at One Wall St. in fall 2024. The store will span 54,365 square feet over two levels. This space will include the landmarked Red Room, one of only 50 interior landmarks in New York City. The brand has commissioned internationally multi-awarded Parisian interior designer Laura Gonzalez as the architect on the project, with the aim to create a “Paris meets New York” design.

Conwell Coffee Hall
20 Exchange Pl. — Opened February 2024
This expansive new coffee hall has taken over the former bank lobby at 20 Exchange Pl. (enter at 6 Hanover St.), and features sky-high ceilings, ornate Art Deco molding, and a gorgeous marbled teller counter that doubles as a coffee bar, backed by a spectacular Diego Rivera-esque centerpiece mural. Its menu focuses on New York classics with a twist, and it is now open in the evening for cocktails.

Sixpoint Brewery
200 Liberty St. at Brookfield Place — Opened December 2023
Popular Brooklyn-based craft beer brand Sixpoint Brewery opened an expansive taproom, including an outdoor beer garden, at 200 Liberty St. in Brookfield Place. The taproom features a full lineup of Sixpoint beers on tap, along with a food menu and a wide selection of packaged beer to-go.
Metropolis by Marcus Samuelsson
1 Liberty Plaza at PAC NYC — Opened November 2023
Metropolis is a vibrant contemporary American restaurant from Marcus Samuelsson and executive chef Ed Tinoco within the Perelman Performing Arts Center. Designed by David Rockwell, the restaurant features a dazzling and yet warmly inviting dining room and a bustling bar, a landscaped outdoor terrace and a lobby lounge featuring free-to-the-public artistic programming.

Delmonico’s
56 Beaver St. — Reopened September 2023
The iconic steakhouse reopened after a three-year closure. Originally debuting in 1837, generations of New Yorkers have marked special occasions at the famed restaurant. Known for its prime cuts of beef, Delmonico’s new chef Edward Hong puts his own spin on the menu, which still features many classics.
The Tin Building
96 South St. — Opened Fall 2022
Located on the site of the Seaport’s famed Fulton Fish Market, the Tin Building is a new culinary destination curated by acclaimed celebrity chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten. The expansive food mecca offers two floors of “immersive concepts,” multiple restaurants and a market where you can buy everything from locally sourced seafood and meats to fresh produce and specialty items. Fans of Jean-Georges can also find his first seafood restaurant, celebrated spot the Fulton, also located at the Seaport.

Poets House
10 River Terrace — Reopened January 2024
This national poetry library and literary center, home to readings, talks, performances, classes, a 80,000-volume collection and more, reopened after a multi-year closure. Poets House’s collection of journals, broadsides and chapbooks is available for the public to browse, entirely free of charge.
The popular Summer Concert Series at this dramatic rooftop venue is bigger than ever, with Summer 2024’s lineup including Taking Back Sunday, Dashboard Confessional, Andrew Bird, Social Distortion and many others. Concert-goers can enjoy a one-of-a-kind, cutting-edge experience featuring everything from pop to comedy — plus views of the Brooklyn Bridge that can’t be beat.
Ferry routes connecting Lower Manhattan to all five boroughs leave from Pier 11: Lower East Side, the Bronx, Astoria, Bay Ridge, Sunset Park, North Brooklyn and the Rockaway beaches and now St. George on Staten Island.

Warren Street Hotel
86 Warren St. — Opened Early 2024
The third property from Firmdale Hotels in New York City, the Warren Street Hotel features 69 individually designed bedrooms, suites and residences with bright and bold interiors created by Kit Kemp Design Studio. The property also includes Warren Street Bar and Restaurant, a modern 150-seat brasserie serving a classic menu of dishes infused with global influences.

Casa Cipriani
10 South St.
As part of the redevelopment of the historic Battery Maritime Building, the third and fourth floors of Casa Cipriani feature a 47-room boutique hotel with many suites and balconies overlooking the Brooklyn Bridge and the Statue of Liberty. A new fifth-floor glass addition houses the exclusive Casa Cipriani private membership club with a jazz lounge, bars and a restaurant.

Tour operators, groups and travelers on more of a mid-price budget have yet another option in Lower Manhattan with the recent opening of a combo Residence Inn/Courtyard by Marriott which features approximately 320 guest rooms, generous amenities and excellent access to all of the nearby sites.
