Governors Island

Overview

Governor's Island is 43 acres of new, award-winning public space that is accessible by ferry from Lower Manhattan and Brooklyn. The Island is host to extraordinary open spaces, transformative arts and culture programing, and climate change research. These efforts will together advance the mission of the Trust to continue Governors Island’s transformation as an extraordinary public place, supporting year-round public access and creating a path towards financial sustainability.
