Five New-ish and Notable Shops to Check Out at Brookfield Place
A shopping mall provides one of summer’s best, no-cost reliefs from the heat: free air conditioning. Of course in New York City, we don’t have tons of traditional shopping malls: ours are much classier, nicer and more fun than the traditional suburban experience.
At Brookfield Place, you can shop luxury brands and choose from a cornucopia of food options all under palm trees and views of the Hudson River. Here are five cool spots to check out while enjoying the A/C.
Ani Ramen
The recently opened food stand is rooted in traditional ramen culture and cuisine, bringing the streets of Tokyo and Osaka to Lower Manhattan. The menu includes handmade gyoza, daily specials, lots of ramen options and pork buns.
Plaza M
Get your spa needs met while you’re knocking out your shopping. Plaza M opened in April and provides non-toxic nail care, organic spa pedicures, waxing, lash extensions and full-body massages in a healthy atmosphere.
Adam Grooming
With 10 locations across London, Adam Grooming brings renowned barber skills inspired by Turkish traditions to the neighborhood. Experience the old-world craftsmanship with a haircut, beard trim or wet-shave here.
Clean Market
The “modern wellness destination” lets you explore purposeful nutrition at The Elk cafe, browse for products in the wellness shop and try out innovative services such as IV drips, cryotherapy, infrared saunas and more.
Big and Tiny nursery and preschool
The nursery, preschool and on-demand childcare provider for ages 2 months to 5 years is taking reservations now and is set to open in Brookfield Place soon. The facility calls itself not just a daycare, but “a global movement with the mission to bring progressive education, a supportive community and work-life balance to modern families.”
