Fans of delicious food and captivating performances should grab their tickets for the China Institute of America’s Mid-Autumn Festival, taking place on Sunday, October 5. This annual tradition is always a hit in the neighborhood, and this year’s celebration is no exception.

Head to the China Institute’s headquarters at 100 Washington St. from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. to enjoy a whole host of activities, including an Uyghur dance performance, a puppet show and hands-on workshops. Make your own snow skin mooncakes, craft a rice dough sculpture, create a Chinese opera face mask or try your hand at a number of arts and crafts projects geared towards adults and children alike.

Attendees can also explore the China Institute Gallery’s new show, “Metamorphosis: Chinese Imagination and Transformation,” which features works by 28 artists of Chinese descent, exploring themes of personal, cultural, historical and material transformation in dynamic and innovative ways.

Tickets for the festival are $15 for adults, $5 for children 12 and under, and free for China Institute members; reserve your spot here
