Add another summer movie series to your social calendar: Starting on July 24, Fosun and Alamo Drafthouse will once again screen free outdoor films at Fosun Plaza at 28 Liberty St., and to kick things off, they’re taking attendees back to the 1980s. Outdoor films enthusiasts never say die.
This year’s Summer Movie Nights series begins on July 24 with the classic 1985 adventure film “The Goonies,” with plaza seating opening at 6 p.m. (the screening will begin at 6:30 p.m.). Alamo Drafthouse and Fosun will provide complimentary popcorn and Fosun will have seating available, though organizers recommend bringing your own food and drinks and a blanket for extra comfort.
On August 14, head back to Fosun Plaza to help an ogre and a donkey free a princess at a free screening of the 2001 film “Shrek.” Plaza seating opens at 6 p.m., and the screening will begin at 6:30 p.m.
