How Lower Manhattan Small Business Owners Can Stock Up On Free Masks To Keep Staff Safe
With vaccinations underway and citywide infection rates improving, there’s hope on the horizon. Still, we’ve got a long pandemic winter ahead of us, and keeping each other safe is as imperative as ever.
As every New Yorker knows by now, one of the best and most effective ways to mitigate COVID-19 is to wear a mask. Hence why the Manhattan Chamber of Commerce is setting up small business owners with free masks to help keep themselves and employees safe.
Go to their website to sign up and schedule pickup time, and come prepared with a bag to transport your own PPE. The Chamber of Commerce recommends allocating at least 20 masks for each employee.
If you’d like to cover your bases even more, the city is also distributing free face masks and non-medical PPE to local businesses with fewer than 100 employees.
While it’s crucial for everyone to get vaccinated as soon as they’re eligible and able to get an appointment (we’ve got guides on that here and here), in the meantime, we can all stay masked up to help our neighbors — and neighborhood businesses — stay healthy and thriving.
