Golden Mall’s long-awaited downtown location has finally soft-opened at 47 Broadway. While we’re still waiting on about a dozen or more of the mall’s Asian food stalls, there’s plenty to peruse already: sushi, noodles, fried chicken and sweet treats, for starters. As of earlier this week, open food stalls include:
- Xing Fu Tang
- Golden Bull Handmade Noodles
- Ella’s Candy Street
- Zhengxin Chicken Steak
- Sakara Sushi & Poké
- Bronze Bull Dim Sum
The space itself is cheerfully decorated. The ceiling is partially covered with colorful paper lanterns, and faux greenery stretches above the seating area. There are plenty of tables and chairs, so bring your whole crew and spread out.
There’s also signage indicating that Max Fun Land, an amusement center and arcade, will be opening very soon. Work continues on the other levels of the building, which will house even more food stalls and entertainment options.
While only a handful of restaurants are open now, the seven-story space will eventually feature 18 food stalls and venues for karaoke and nightlife, according to the Real Deal. “Our goal is to have a building the locals will love and where the tourists will want to be,” owner Robert Cheng told the publication.
Golden Mall’s original location in Flushing is also worth a visit if you haven’t been in a while. It reopened in July 2023 after a four-year renovation.
