Whether you need a last minute gift for a baby shower, birthday party, or a way to bribe a toddler, downtown is kid-friendly in more ways than one. In addition to our big name stores that cater to all age groups, we also have several dedicated to our littlest Lower Manhattanites. Not that these are the only places you can find things to buy for children. After all, there are toys everywhere for those with the eyes to see.
Babesta Cribz (56 Warren St.)
For nearly two decades, Babesta Cribz has offered curated baby and kids gear for downtown parents. The shop sells baby clothing, furniture and strollers with personalized service, including hold-it-til-you-need-it, white glove delivery and a repurchasing program for gear your family outgrows. Soon-to-be parents can even create a registry here for an easy gift-giving experience.
Two Kids and a Dog (275 Greenwich St.)
You’ll find cars, dinosaurs, unicorns, stuffed animals and all of the other things kids love at Two Kids and a Dog. Fun and education overlaps here, so expect shelves full of puzzles, science kits, back to school gear and classic board games in addition to baby and toddler toys.
Words on Warren (52 Warren St.)
Words on Warren children’s bookstore is dedicated to raising a new generation of readers from little book lovers to future bibliophiles. The cute and cozy shop also functions as a kids reading room and community hub that offers workshops and regular events, including storytime on weekend mornings.
MINISO (150 Broadway)
When you need a gift for slightly bigger kids, you’re guaranteed to find something at MINISO. The Chinese chain has merch from almost every popular franchise and pop culture phenomenon you can think of — from Minions to Disney to BTS and so much more.
Bonus: While not specifically a children’s store, what NYC kid doesn’t love trains? The New York Transit Museum Store (2 Broadway) has a great selection of onesies, toys and more MTA tchotchkes to delight kids of all ages (even kids at heart). And CityStore (1 Centre St.), the official store of the City of New York, also has games, puzzles and adorable kids and baby apparel.
