Honestly? The Malt House Has an Amazing Downstairs Party Space (and No Minimums!)

In a commuter-heavy neighborhood like Lower Manhattan, the cubicle world is always pining for stylish and affordable venues to host after-work shindigs. So here’s a fresh tidbit to share with the party-planning committee: The Malt House (9 Maiden Ln.) recently gave its downstairs space a major overhaul. “It was a dated bar that had taken a bit of a beating,” said director of operations Kevin O’Hanlon, “so we decided it was time for an upgrade.”

That upgrade includes the standards one would expect in a party space (new plush couches, audio/visual capabilities, private servers, a spruced-up bathroom), plus one key element: No minimums! That means your group doesn’t have to reach a specific dollar amount for the restaurant to justify the booking. “I don’t want to stress people out about how much they have to spend,” O’Hanlon added. “I want them to enjoy themselves. All budgets are good budgets. You tell me what you have to spend, and I’ll do my best to make it work.”

See below for a preview of the new renovations.
