Manhatta and Its Sky-High Views Are FINALLY Coming Back
Manhatta — the Danny Meyer restaurant with easily the best view among all of Lower Manhattan’s dining rooms with scenic vibes — is finally coming back after two years.
The restaurant on the 60th floor of 28 Liberty Street has been closed since the beginning of the pandemic in March 2020, and will finally make its return on St. Patrick’s Day, March 17. It will look slightly different from its pre-pandemic self, according to the New York Times. The restaurant will serve only drinks and bar food at first, something Meyer said he was inspired to do by the final days before the shutdown, when it was full of locals and regulars saying goodbye.
He told the Times it reminded him “of the best back bar in the city, because the back bar is the city.” He added, “It was exactly what we created the bar to be.”
The new menu will contain drinks named after city neighborhoods, such as Astoria, Red Hook and Little Italy, plus an aquavit cocktail inspired by the look and taste of a black-and-white cookie.
The 100-seat bar will be open from 5 p.m. to 11:30 p.m. every day. Get a taste of its stunning views in this video, too.
