Let’s Freshen Up Mannahatta Park!

The Downtown Alliance is bringing back our volunteer program with a planting event at Mannahatta Park on Wall Street that will restore the space to its pre-pandemic appearance. We’ll be planting more than 80 shrubs and a few hundred smaller plants throughout the entire park. If you’ve got a green thumb and some extra time, we are looking for volunteers to assist with the planting and cleanup. The project will start at 10 a.m. on Friday, July 2, and will last until we’ve finished planting.

Plants include blue irises, buttonbushes, hydrangeas, hostas and heucheras.

Per CDC guidance, we request that unvaccinated participants wear masks while volunteering. If someone is seeking distanced participation, please let us know and we will be happy to make accommodations.
