Cellist Maya Beiser Is Performing An Entire Bowie Album At Brookfield Place — Listen To Her ‘Ziggy Stardust’ Cover

On January 10, cellist Maya Beiser will debut her new album “Aura Blackstar: Bowie Cello Symphonic Visualized” inside Brookfield Place’s Winter Garden. “Aura” is a re-imagination of David Bowie’s 2016 album “Blackstar” track by track, and the 1/10 performance and album-release date, for those of you not nearly as obsessed with the late legend (shame on you), is to pay further homage to Bowie, who died on that date four years ago.

The show starts at 8p.

In anticipation of Beiser’s performance, here’s a sample from her YouTube channel: A cover of 1972’s “Ziggy Stardust,” backed by the Bowie Symphonic Ensemble and arranged/conducted by American composer Evan Ziporyn.
