Celebrate the National Parks Service’s 107th Birthday at the African Burial Ground

The National Park Service’s birthday is coming up! Did you get them anything? Well, that’s okay, because you’re still invited to its bday bash.

The NPS turns 107 years old on August 25, and you can honor the agency, which protects so much of our beautiful land and historic monuments — indeed, even right here in Lower Manhattan. The African Burial Ground National Monument is hosting an event that day featuring live music.

Catch music from Bes and Tony from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the memorial on the Duane Street side of the facility (290 Broadway).

In case of rain, the event will be moved inside the lobby. Find out more about how the monument went from a construction site to a national landmark here
