The Oculus turns 10 years old this August! And to mark the milestone, the downtown landmark will host 10 whole days of community programming, music, art, exclusive offers and giveaways, running August 7 through August 17.
To kick things off, head to the Oculus on Friday, August 7, from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. for a Rededication and Community Celebration. Attendees can enjoy retailer pop-ups, community festivities and be among the first to see the floral sculpture made for the occasion — “Ten in Bloom,” a 10-foot tall installation by Fleurs de Villes, which is made entirely of fresh flowers and will be displayed throughout the 10-day event. Snap a photo with the sculpture and post tagging @WestfieldWorldTradeCenter and using #OCULUS10 to enter to win a $100 gift card for Oculus retailers.
Other events of note: on Saturday, August 8, Art on the Ave will be hosting a special Art Jam, highlighting local artists and giving you the opportunity to join in creating Oculus-inspired work. Then, on Wednesday, August 12, the nonprofit Sing for Hope will present live music featuring 2016 throwbacks — the songs that were everywhere when the Oculus first opened. As a bonus, throughout the week-plus, participating stores and restaurants within the Oculus will be offering special deals, so prepare to shop and dine! There’s no sweeter way to celebrate the Oculus’s first decade.
