The much-anticipated Uniqlo store is now open at the World Trade Center (18 Church St.), and it’s a veritable feast of sweaters, pants, outerwear, t-shirts and more in every color possible. The multilevel retailer, which replaces an H&M store, features a full spectrum of Uniqlo offerings, plus some special goodies just for the downtown location. And yes, they’ve got the bag.
Visitors will find women’s clothing on the first floor and men’s on the second, with an additional large section on the second floor dedicated to Uniqlo’s famed cozy HEATTECH line. There are plenty of in-store perks in addition to the merchandise, including embroidery and complimentary pants alterations.
And as a treat for downtowners, you can opt for customized screenprinting via Uniqlo’s UTme! Studio, with New York, MTA and Lower Manhattan-specific graphic designs from artist Lauren Martin. Think MetroCard tote bags, anthropomorphic bagel sandwiches, pigeons and more. It’s a fun way to jazz up your basic-wear and put your NYC spirit on display!
