Zizi Wine Bar Is the Perfect Post-Work Spot for a Drink and a Snack

There are lots of standout spots in Lower Manhattan for a happy hour drink, and now we can add one more to the collection. In January, local chainlet Zizi Wine Bar opened an outpost at 45 John St., where they serve up hefty pours and Mediterranean bites in a hip, inviting space.

We stopped by recently for their happy hour special, where options include $9 glasses of wine, 20 percent off bottles and $16 drink-and-bite deals. Flavorful eats, like a creamy cauliflower tahini, fresh hummus and an excellent King Oyster mushroom dish, pair perfectly with soft pita bread and crisp wines from different Mediterranean countries; you can also opt for bigger dishes, like lamb chops or shawarma if you’re super hungry.

Diners can enjoy inside’s hip ambiance, or dine al fresco now that the weather’s warming up, as long as you don’t mind the bustle of John Street. Welcome to the neighborhood, Zizi!
