Instagram Filters Transport NYC Landmarks Nationwide and Offer Chance to Win a Lower Manhattan Getaway

The Alliance for Downtown New York, the nonprofit business improvement district for Lower Manhattan, has launched a new Instagram filter (@downtownnnyc) that allows users to place three-dimensional renderings of the Statue of Liberty, the Brooklyn Bridge, Fearless Girl, the Oculus and One World Trade Center anywhere in their own hometown. Instagram users who post a photo or video using the AR filter and tagging @downtownnyc will automatically be entered to win a getaway for two to New York City to see the sites in person.

The prize includes a two-night stay at The Beekman, a Thompson Hotel in Lower Manhattan, dinner for two at the Michelin-starred Crown Shy, tickets to visit One World Observatory at One World Trade Center and a $500 voucher for qualifying travel-related expenses. The filter, and its complementary contest, is the culmination of a year-long campaign that has showcased all of the unique things to do and see within Lower Manhattan under the tagline “Do You. Downtown.” The sweepstakes is open until 11:59pm ET on Tuesday, March 15. The winner will be chosen at random and contacted on March 17.
