10 Unique Spots to Check Out During Open House NY

October 7, 2025

Open House New York, which takes place from Friday, October 17 through Sunday, October 19, provides the public with access to uniquely New York spaces and events — like the gorgeous Hall of Records or a display of the original map of Manhattan at the Borough President’s office. Attendees can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse of parks, performance spaces, offices and public works facilities as part of the weekend’s events.

Some events are ticketed, and many of the ticketed events in the neighborhood have already sold out. But there are also plenty of drop-in events happening in the area, including tours of the African Burial Ground National Monument and of the nation’s first immigrant processing center, Castle Garden Emigrant Depot at Castle Clinton.

We’ve highlighted events happening in the neighborhood, but there are plenty of unique spaces and tours happening in all boroughs as part of the weekend’s events. Check out the full calendar here.
