From Forest Bathing to Fishing, Climate Week Hits Battery Park City

September 14, 2026

Climate Week NYC is back with events all over the city from September 20-27. Battery Park City is hosting its own cluster of programming this year. Here’s what’s happening on the waterfront.

There are plenty of interesting events going on September 23, from Meet the Beekeeper at Rockefeller Park to an artist talk about public art and extreme weather in the Wagner Pavilion Classroom (20 Battery Pl.). Another one to check out is Fun, Femme Fishing at Wagner Park, hosted by the Battery Park City Authority and the Lower East Side Ecology Center. Come learn about the waterways with the community at this inclusive event.

On September 25, take a second to relax and meditate at Forest Bathing for Climate, a time to reconnect with nature in Teardrop Park and appreciate the outdoors. Join on September 26 for 24 the Planet, a 24-mile waterfront walk benefiting Justdiggit’s land re-greening work with lunch, walking meditations, a DJ and more.

Rounding out the events in Battery Park City is the NYC Climate Day of Action on September 27 from 4 p.m. to 7 p.m. There will be speakers, music and a talk about ways to save money and help the climate at the same time.

From befriending the bees to a long walk along the water, Battery Park City’s Climate Week lineup is proof that climate action can start right in your own backyard. Most events are free and open to the public, so make the most of this excuse to get outside and learn about our planet.
