PrimpNYC Enlists Women-Owned Businesses to Perfect Salon Experience
By: Heather Ducharme
On the cobblestoned corner of 142 Beekman Street in the Seaport District resides PrimpNYC, a new shop that offers a variety of beauty treatments, products and wellness experiences. Sip a pampering glass of bubbly as the stylists elevate your everyday look into something extra special for your next big event or “just because” celebration.
Maria Burge, owner and longtime Downtown NYC resident, opened PrimpNYC to provide the best hair experience possible for residents and neighborhood customers. “We want to be the neighborhood spot for all things beauty, somewhere people can come back to each week,” says Maria. “Throughout the year, we also plan on expanding our wellness experience with massages and acupuncture.”
Same-day beauty treatments include blowouts, hair styling, makeup and braiding. As a proud female entrepreneur, Maria has gone out of her way to support and enlist like-minded women to bring additional services to the store from brow grooming and facial waxing by Browtiste, cut and color by stylists Susi and Chereen, and lash extensions by Honey Lashes.
Maria is also a strong advocate of sustainable services. In her salon, customers can purchase eco-friendly hair and beauty care products, sunglasses, lotions and jewelry. The Good Home Company sells natural laundry and cleaning supplies and is a downtown business in Battery Park City with a wide selection of items available at PrimpNYC.
Need to look fabulous in a pinch? PrimpNYC accepts walk-ins to get you glamour ready. Or, if you have more time, you can book an appointment online.
