NYC’s Vaccine Mandate for Indoor Spaces to End on March 7

With Covid-19 numbers entering another valley, Mayor Adams announced that he’ll be ending the Key to NYC program, which requires patrons to show proof of vaccination to enter indoor spaces like restaurants, gyms and entertainment venues.

The program was credited with bringing indoor business back after its implementation by Mayor de Blasio last fall; vaccinated individuals are less likely to contract even immunity-evading variants like Omicron, which makes all-vaccinated spaces safer for unmasked patrons.

Pending a change in case numbers, vaccinations will no longer be required starting on March 7. Individual businesses can still mandate vaccinations if they choose.
