[In-person tour] Aficionados of mid-20th century Modernism often overlook Lower Manhattan. Discover the area’s modern treasures with architectural historian Matt Postal viewing major works of architecture and sculpture. Heading north from Wall Street, we’ll view several freestanding office towers by Skidmore, Owings & Merrill, important sculptures by Isamu Noguchi and Jean Dubuffet, as well as memorable works by I. M. Pei and Kelly & Gruzen, who transformed the civic center in 1960s and 1970s, including two distinguished apartment complexes, each in different ways, inspired by Le Corbusier.
