Subway Station Bathrooms Reopen at Fulton Center and Across the City

Good news for anyone who’s got to go when on the go: On Monday, the MTA officially reopened nine bathrooms inside subway stations across the city. Lower Manhattan got one of those in an important hub: the Fulton Center bathroom is open again for all your transferring relief, near the A/C trains.

The MTA is reopening at least one restroom in every borough, including the bathrooms at Manhattan’s 14th Street-Union Square Station and 42nd Street-Bryant Park.

The MTA closed all 133 bathrooms across 69 stations during the start of the Covid pandemic, and advocates have been clamoring for their return since. As subway ridership bounced back, the MTA eventually responded. In the downtime, the bathrooms were refreshed with new paint jobs and new fixtures; they’ll be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m., with a one-hour cleaning at 1 p.m.
