Metropolis, Marcus Samuelsson’s “Love Letter to NYC,” Is Now Open for Dinner

Metropolis — the new spot from Marcus Samuelsson, famed restaurateur behind Harlem’s Red Rooster and many more restaurants across the globe — has officially opened at PAC NYC (251 Fulton St). Impeccably designed by David Rockwell, the restaurant’s dining room is outfitted with geometric patterns dotting the ceiling, and offers diners an additional landscaped outdoor terrace seating area. In keeping with PAC NYC’s role as a major cultural center, the restaurant’s lobby lounge will offer free-to-the-public arts programming.

Samuelsson said he sees Metropolis as a way to pay back some of the New York love he’s received over the years, telling Yahoo in a recent interview that the restaurant is his love letter to the city.

“We feel this is a New York City restaurant that we can’t wait to introduce to the city,” he said, adding that the menu will be inspired by farmers markets and the “seasonality of the city,” in addition to local beers and wines featured at the bar.

You can peruse the menu here; dinner dishes include smoked hamachi tacos, grilled prawns, “blanketed” franks, sheep’s milk triangoli, aged Crescent Island duck and more.

Metropolis is accepting reservations now.
