A New Season for World-Class Talent

10/08/2014

Get ready for exceptional music, dance, film, theater and more, as the Schimmel Center at Pace University’s new season begins.  The 2014/2015 line-up promises to be filled with exciting entertainment for all.

Broadway fans won’t want to miss The Fred Barton Orchestra and his cast of singers and dancers in American Showstoppers.  Silent films come alive with live piano accompaniment by Ben Model.  And a sing-a-long version of the classic film Grease encourages the audience to let their inhibitions go!  Art history buffs will appreciate the lecture  on artistic geniuses and architectural accomplishments featuring Dr. Janetta Rebold Benton.  Kids will love the fun stories and live music at the one-hour shows that take places on Saturdays at 2 P.M.  This holiday season brings Gelsey Kirkland’s ballet of the favorite classic, The Nutcracker to the stage.  And in the spring, two-time Tony Award Winner, Patty LuPone will perform her new, critically-acclaimed concert Far Away Places, while Broadway legend Ben Vereen puts on a one-man concert covering music from his lengthy career.

Highlights this season also include rising star operatic performances, debuts by international dance companies and acrobats, and musical global sounds from around the world.
