Apollo Bagels Is Now Open on John Street and Lives Up to the Hype

In case you haven’t been paying attention, Lower Manhattan is well on its way to becoming the bagel capital of the city, with beloved stand-bys mixing with exciting new bagelries. Apollo Bagels is the latest buzzy chain to grace downtown with a new location at 41 John St. And of course, downtown’s outpost does what Apollo does best: It keeps it simple.
Here, you won’t be overwhelmed by complicated menus or colorful cream cheese displays. Instead, there are three bagel choices: plain, sesame and everything. Sandwich options are minimalistic as well, with options including butter, cream cheese (take the option to add a tomato, trust us), lox and a few fish salads. Apollo also offers Parlor Coffee and fresh squeezed orange juice among its beverage options. The roomy interior and ample seating make it a perfect spot to meet for a quick bite.
Don’t let the streamlined options fool you — less is more at Apollo Bagels.
