Ess-a-Bagel Is Open and Ready to Fill Downtown’s Bellies With Bagels

We reported back in January that famed bagelry Ess-a-Bagel was set to open in Lower Manhattan — and the day has finally come! The new outpost debuted on March 12 at 115 Broadway, with plenty of bagels and schmear for all.
The Ess-a-Bagel’s downtown location kept it simple on Wednesday morning, with only sesame, plain and everything bagels on offer, though there were tons of cream cheeses to choose from. You can also get bagel sandwiches, lattes and teas, with fruit cups and bottled beverages available to grab at the register. The space itself is clean and inviting, and though there isn’t much room to hang out, it’s a great place for a morning grab-and-go. And, in keeping with Ess-a-Bagel’s multi-decade standing as one of the best bagel spots in New York City, the goods are excellent.
Ess-a-Bagel is open from 6:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday through Sunday; you can find menus and more on the store’s website.
