‘I See the Sky From the Other Side’ Now on View at 77 Water St.
January 14, 2026
The neighborhood got a little brighter this weekend with the addition of a colorful new mural, “I See the Sky From the Other Side,” which is now on view on construction fencing at 77 Water St.
The mural, by Greek/French visual artist Eirini Lindardaki, is one of the six selected artworks derived from a partnership between the Downtown Alliance and local arts organization ArtBridge to create a unique portfolio of Lower Manhattan-specific artwork that can be easily and affordably installed on temporary protective structures. “I See the Sky From the Other Side” features a Lower Manhattan skyline with a vibrant blue sky and buildings wrapped in multicolored fabric patterns, recalling the neighborhood’s diversity and historical richness while highlighting downtown icons like One World Trade and the Brooklyn Bridge. It’s a gorgeous addition to the block, as you can see below:

The Artbridge Portfolio Opportunity is still ongoing, and downtown property owners looking to add a pop of color to sidewalk sheds, construction fences or netting outside their buildings are invited to apply on our website. The program will award a total of five properties within the district up to $10,000 or 25% of the total cost of a project, whichever is less, to install one of the six available art pieces on their temporary structures. In addition to “I See the Sky From the Other Side,” works to display include Peter Arkle’s “Downtown Details,” Yukiko Izumi’s “Letters From Lower Manhattan,” Keji Drysdale’s “Echoes in Time,” James Hsieh’s “No Place I’d Rather Dream” and Alexandra Folino’s “My New Yorks.” You can peruse the portfolio here.
