Now’s Your Chance to Sip Drinks Under Brookfield’s Palm Trees Like You’re in the Tropics

Even the most diehard New Yorkers can be forgiven for wanting to skip out on the Big Apple during the Big Freeze months. February is the endurance round of winter, when the city is at its grayest and bleakest and spring still seems far away. It’s enough to make you want to skip out to warmer climates if you can; but if you’re stuck here, you still have options for some lightly tropical lounging to forget about the cold.

Brookfield Place, which already leaned into the indoor-tropics vibe for the holidays, will take things a step further this month with the introduction of the Palm Lounge, a “curated cocktail experience” under the palm trees that adorn its Winter Garden.

The two-day pop-up lounge, which will run on Wednesday February 26 and Thursday February 27 from 4:30 – 8:30 p.m., will transport you to the islands with drinks by expert mixologist Erik Trinidad, light bites like charcuterie boards from eatery Tartinery and, of course, DJs spinning vinyl, so you can really lean into the low-key party life. The event is an easy way to put some distance between you and February in New York, without having to pack a suitcase.
