Recommendation: The Sunset And Cocktails At The Greens At Pier 17

That chill in the air is not your imagination — summer is over. But you can still enjoy the sunshine (while it lasts) and green space (while that lasts, too) at The Greens at Pier 17, which in addition to its stellar outdoor movie series, offers mini-lawns to green space-starved New Yorkers.

A reservation nets you a 14-foot by 14-foot patch, replete with cabana-style lounge chairs, a sun umbrella, a USB charging port and a built-in Yeti cooler for al fresco boozing. You’ll have to leave your own snacks and drinks at home, unfortunately, but R17 has a slew of delectable bites and beverages available for purchase.

Making a reservation is free — there is a $1 booking fee, which will go towards a local civic organization. Outdoor space and a good deed? Yes please.
