Master Your Mixology Skills With A Crash Course From The Dead Rabbit

Many of us have been playing the role of at-home bartender since the start of the pandemic. And if your definition of “cocktail” has gotten a little, uh, loose (i.e., equal parts “whatever’s left in the liquor cabinet” and “whatever liquid is in the fridge”), we’d be the last to judge.

But if you’d like to brush up your mixology game or simply expand your repertoire before a long winter, the Dead Rabbit has you covered.

The beloved Water Street watering hole, a frequent World’s Best Bar award winner, is taking its bartenders’ renowned cocktail expertise online with a series of virtual cocktail-making classes. Price points vary, though If you’re willing to shell out more cash, they’ll deliver spirits and equipment straight to your apartment before your digital class is in session.

If you’ve already got a pretty stocked home bar, however, consider opting for the Classic Cocktails Crash Course, for which you’ll need to BYO spirits and supplies. Dead Rabbit managing partners Jillian Vose and Jack McGarry will act as your virtual tour guides, teaching you classics like  the martini, the Manhattan, and the Old Fashioned. Post-course, you’ll be reading to impress your guests whenever it’s safe to have cocktail parties again.

And even if you’re just mixing drinks to enjoy on your own couch,, isn’t whipping up a Mad Men-worthy cocktail a worthy skill to have in your back pocket?

The Classic Cocktails course will take place on October 15 from 6p to 7:30p, and costs $99 for registration.
