Take One Last Spin Through the Universe With Hall des Lumières’s “Destination Cosmos”
Digital art and event space Hall des Lumières has taken a pause on new immersive exhibitions for a bit, but this month, it’s bringing back one of its most eye-popping experiences. From August 21 to August 25, you can once again catch “Destination Cosmos: The Immersive Space Experience.”
The exhibition features 13 sequences of an interstellar voyage, the installation’s NASA-provided imagery includes that of the heart of Jupiter, the rings of Saturn, Martian canyons and supernovae — a journey that begins at Cape Canaveral and ends in the universe’s outer reaches. The “Cosmos” exhibit plays off marble brass and stained glass features within Hall des Lumières’s 28,000-square-foot space (formerly the Emigrant Industrial Savings Bank), and uses cutting-edge mapping technology to highlight stunning footage from space you’ve probably never seen before.
It’s an otherworldly adventure you don’t want to miss, and the window to see it is short. Get tickets here.
