Good news for Lower Manhattanites who’re in need of a grocery run, a breath of fresh air or to give your eyes a rest from the neverending stream of news feeds: The Downtown Alliance’s free Downtown Connection Bus is back in action and operating every day.

That’s right. Last month’s brief hiatus is over, and the commuter-bus service is still 100% free — even to fans of Thin Lizzy. Our sanitation team continues to keep the big red rig extra clean, and, with five state-of-the-art buses and 36 stops around the perimeter of Lower Manhattan, the Downtown Connection is NYC’s only free circulator bus service.

Hopefully the Downtown Connection helps you make the most out of your outings, whether it be stocking up on bialys and spreads from Leo’s or catching a glimpse of Downtown’s elegant cityscapes.

You can check out our map and NextBus (via their iPhone and Android apps) to find out when the next Downtown Connection will arrive.
