CUTE ALERT: It’s Baby Falcon Season at 55 Water St.

[UPDATE BELOW] OK, yes, we’ve gone on record declaring that outdoor eating and drinking season is the best, which is still true. But the onset of warm weather (which we swear is actually coming one day) welcomes one of our other all-time favorite activities — watching the Falcon Cam. And lo: it’s birdy time!

The Falcon Cam at 55 Water St., which has been documenting the famed Water Street peregrine falcon’s nesting activities for years now, is now officially active, and the bird action is worth the hype. Though the nesting area was a bit sparse last week, as of yesterday, we can confirm there is at least one egg up there:

This morning, our pal Falcon was center stage keeping incoming Baby Falcon warm. We’re hoping for even more eggs this season: watch this space.

Update, 2:51 p.m.: There are now at least TWO eggs.

Please stay tuned for more crucial updates on this latest development.
