This Seaport Bar Hidden Inside a Bodega Is the Perfect Galentine’s Day Date Spot

You’ve got your Valentine’s Day plans, but what about Galentine’s Day? Thanks to “Parks and Recreation,” February 13 is all about celebrating your gal pals (and waffles), and the Little Shop in the Seaport is a great place to do it.

When you enter the unassuming storefront at 252 Front St., you might think you’ve just walked into another bodega, albeit one stocked with funky candles and other cute gift items in addition to Gatorades and bags of chips. But hidden behind a door, you’ll find a gorgeous cocktail bar well-suited to any bestie power outing. The funky, maximalist decor, which includes plush animal print upholstery, floral-patterned wallpaper and delightfully quirky peacock lamps, makes the space feel like the apartment of a well-traveled eccentric. Grab a couch with your gal pals and indulge in creative drinks like the Sour Candy (Suntory Toki, pear brandy, honey, lemon), Purple Vesper (empress gin, vodka, Lillet blanc, shop-made lavender bitters) and Carrot (mezcal, carrot, coriander agave, chili, nutmeg dust), which are as delicious as they are picturesque.

If you get peckish, you can order bites from the bodega, or, if you’re really looking to make a night of it, head to Cowgirl SeaHorse (259 Front St.) right across the street, where you can enjoy Tex-Mex dishes and margaritas with your favorite ladies. Galentine’s Day — it’s only the best day of the year
