Get Your BBQ Fix at Route 66

With a nod to “The Mother Road,” the recently-opened Route 66 Smokehouse is bringing some smoky heat to Stone Street. The restaurant features such regional American fare as a pulled pork sandwich with eastern Carolina BBQ sauce; sliced brisket with Thousand Island dressing; and shrimp and grits with ham and mushrooms.

Route 66 joins Blue Smoke as one of the few spots below Chambers Street where diners can enjoy Southern favorites heavy on the meat. There are some salads though, including a kale and a classic wedge, for those looking for a little green to balance things out.
