Video: Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson Croon Like Neil Diamond at Old Mates
December 3, 2025
A beautiful noise was heard at Old Mates (170 John St.) on Monday night when Hugh Jackman and Kate Hudson, stars of the upcoming biographical drama “Song Sung Blue,” stopped by to belt out “Sweet Caroline.” It’s an appropriate pick, since the film is about a couple who form a Neil Diamond tribute band — and of course Jackman and Hudson’s rendition is so good, so good, so good.
Jackman and Hudson were previously nearby at Cipriani Wall Street for the Gotham Awards, where they received the inaugural Gotham Musical Tribute award. Then, the duo made their way over to Old Mates (Jackman is a part-owner) for the kind of good time the Aussie bar’s known to provide. Indeed, Old Mates was the hottest club in town:
Check out “Song Sung Blue” when it’s released on Christmas Day, and be sure to grab a pint or five at Old Mates next time you’re in the area.
