Watch “La La Land” Under the Stars at Fosun Plaza

Big outdoor movie nights are a beloved New York City summer tradition for a reason. There’s nothing like lugging out the old picnic blanket to take in a flick under the stars. And this summer, the Downtown Alliance has teamed up with Alamo Drafthouse and Fosun to bring you Wednesday-night screenings at Fosun Plaza (28 Liberty Street), featuring a slate of films that’ll have you hopping off that aforementioned picnic blanket for intermittent dance breaks.

Coming up next week, on August 24, is the Oscar darling La La Land, starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling. Plaza seating opens at 6:30 p.m., and the screening is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m.

If you don’t want to bring a blanket, no worries: Fosun will have seats provided. As for munchies, Alamo will have some popcorn at the ready, though you’re also welcome to bring your own food and drinks. Alamo will also have posters and their printing press at the plaza if you want to leave with some funky movie merch. No need to register in advance — just mark the date in your calendar and let your buddies know on the group text ASAP.

Also be sure to mark your calendars for September 21’s screening of In the Heights.
