LM Live’s fall season is in full swing, with an extra tasty event on the docket. Join us on Tuesday, October 27 for a special evening at the historic Fraunces Tavern (54 Pearl St.) where we will dive deep into “The History of Bars In New York.” Panelists include author and deputy editor at the New York Times, Dan Salzstein, along with Gage & Tollner co-founder St. John Frizell, and master mixologists Jack McGarry of the Dead Rabbit and Barry Smyth of Fraunces Tavern.
Attendees will enjoy enjoy a thought-provoking discussion that will unspool the history and evolution of bars in New York City — from the taverns of the Revolutionary War to today’s craft cocktail revival. Our panelists will also explore the stories behind historic spaces like Fraunces Tavern and Brooklyn’s Gage & Tollner and the impact of newer spots like the Dead Rabbit and Overstory.
If that’s not draw enough, two special cocktails are being created for the evening and are included with your admission, along with light bites. Additionally, books by our presenters will be available for sale. Non-alcoholic beverages are available for those who wish to abstain.
The event begins at 6 p.m. Tickets are $30, with all proceeds going to City Harvest. Grab your ticket here.
