Lower Manhattan’s Favorite Drink Specials To Go

Like open streets and outdoor dining, the sudden legality of to-go alcohol is something we’re all hoping sticks around post-pandemic. But just to be safe, it’s probably best to take as much advantage of this loophole while it lasts, no?

Bars and restaurants are still required to sell alcohol with a food item, so your best bet is to pick a place with solid snacks — or, hey, full-blown steak dinners — to soak up all those portable potables. The following are a few Downtown spots currently offering some of the neighborhood’s most creative carryout drink specials, whether you’re getting a cocktail solo or ordering for a crowd.

Cowgirl SeaHorse (259 Front Street) is offering its beloved frozen margaritas in a sanitized mason jar inside a frozen food bag, so they’ll be delivered just as icy old as they come if you’d get ‘em straight from the bar.

Kesté Wall Street (77 Fulton Street) has always been meticulous about its wine selection, and now you can get those bottles delivered, along with pizza, yes, but also arancini, the platonic ideal of a cocktail-hour snack.

Eataly NYC Downtown (101 Liberty Street) is offering delivery of a variety of family-style options (think lasagna dinners for four, or pre-packed picnics to take to the park), alongside DIY cocktail kits for bellinis and spritzes, and a rotating selection of sommelier-selected wines.

Morton’s The Steakhouse (136 Washington Street) will deliver a classic steak dinner right to your door, or if you’d rather do the cooking yourself, they’ve got a few different “chef’s table” home kits. At the moment, they’ll throw in a bottle of wine at a 25% discount.

The Wooly (11 Barclay Street) is easing the sting of not being able to imbibe in-person by offering bottles of batched cocktails (think negronis, punch, daiquiris and all the classics) alongside its simple menu of staples such as tacos, burgers and assorted bar snacks.

Route 66 Smokehouse  (79 Pearl Street) is taking a page from the playbook of summertime beach nutcracker vendors and serving up 16-ounce “punch in a pouch” cocktails such as margaritas and passionfruit pina coladas, alongside their more traditional drinks menu of beers, ciders, bottles and classic cocktails.

Brooklyn Chop House (150 Nassau Street) will deliver its usual dim sum menu and some cold beers, but if you’re in the mood to go a bit big, they’re also offering “celebration packages” with enough food to keep your fridge full for a week, complete with a bottle of wine or a round of frozen lychee cocktails.
