Thank you to everyone who helped make this week’s Lunch Box a success! Thousands of attendees descended on 28 Liberty’s Fosun Plaza on Tuesday, October 8 to enjoy boxed lunches from some of Lower Manhattan’s newer restaurants, as well as bop to some great tunes from DJ Guido Yepez and take in the lovely fall weather. It was a great event, and we know everyone left feeling stuffed.
This year’s event was the third annual pop-up food fair presented by the Alliance’s Dine Around Downtown team, and featured 10 of downtown’s newer additions to the neighborhood food scene: All’Antico Vinaio, Caravan Uyghur Cuisine, Goku Kitchen, Imm Thai, Mikado, Ole & Steen, Plant Junkie, Shikku at Tin Building by Jean-Georges, TAQ and ZiZi Wine Bar. Each restaurant put together a $10 boxed lunch with one entree and two sides, giving attendees a chance to sample discounted dishes from eateries that opened downtown in the last year or so.
Take a look through pics of this year’s event below — and if you missed it, don’t worry! It’ll be back every fall to complement our annual Dine Around Downtown community food festival in the spring.
