Liev Schreiber, The New York Accent, A Librarian Anti-Nazi Spy: Check Out The Museum Of Jewish Heritage’s Winter Programming

The first few months of 2021 are going to mean a lot of time spent indoors, and if you’re on the hunt for something a more enriching than binging Netflix, look no further than The Museum of Jewish Heritage — A Living Memorial to the Holocaust.

The museum’s robust schedule of virtual programming for the winter includes a concert series, lively panel discussions and historical readings and lectures. On January 27, Holocaust Remembrance Day, Liev Schrieber will narrate “18 Voices: A Liberation Day Reading of Young Writers’ Diaries From the Holocaust.”

Other notable online events include the panel discussion “The Rise and Fall of the Jewish New York Accent (February 4); a program about Florence Mendheim, a New York City librarian who went undercover to spy on American Nazis in the 1930s (February 9) and “Extremism: What You Need to Know in 2021” (January 14).

The full schedule of online programming can be found here. Most digital events will be free with a suggested donation.

The museum is also still open for in-person visits (though tickets are timed and must be purchased in advance to accommodate 25% capacity and social distancing), and until May 2 will be showing their award-winning exhibition, “Auschwitz. Not long ago. Not far away.”

Current hours run from 10am to 5pm on Wednesday, Thursday, and Sunday.
