Local Spotlight: Where to Shop and Eat on Nassau Street

Nassau Street is a vibrant, winding ribbon of storefronts containing businesses old and new, spooling from the edge of Pace University’s campus to the front door of the New York Stock Exchange. It’s one of the last standing streets from the colonial era of Lower Manhattan with a name that still honors royalty. The name came from the House of Orange-Nassau in the Netherlands; while other streets named after queens and dukes were changed after the American revolution — Crown Street became Liberty Street, for example — Nassau remained unchanged.

Here’s a rundown of some of the businesses you can find on the street, which run the gamut from fashion boutiques to grab-and-go haunts that serve up your breakfast sandwiches.
